New Season Ministry
Mission
Statement...
Our mission is to present the Bible as the sole means of understanding God's
perfect provision. We will teach clear understanding of scripture, proper
navigation through scripture, and the sharing of God's plan for salvation.
Our Mission Statement is
designed to reflect the purpose of ministry in and through New Season Ministry.
It also reflects the process of ministry that is implemented and helps NSM to be
purpose driven. When identified, the mission statement will ensure that
everything we do works toward the fulfillment of our mission and purpose.
Out of our Mission Statement
flows our vision statement.
Vision Statement...
Teaching...the Word of God
Preaching...the Will of God
Reaching...a Walk with God
The purpose of New Season
Ministry is captured in Matthew 28:18-20 where Jesus stresses the importance of
making disciples. He hints at a strategy within the verses:
(1)
making contact with people and building a
relationship with them ("go and make disciples of all nations");
(2)
evangelizing them ("baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit");
(3)
teaching them ("and teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you"). Our mission statement reflects the
process of ministry by describing the key movements in ministry.
We make contact with people; evangelize them; and teach them.
New Season Ministry exists to
nurture people as they start, develop and grow in a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. Our choice of signature scriptures (Song
of Solomon 2:11; Deuteronomy 28:12;
Ezekiel 34:26) articulates our belief that the people of God must facilitate
those blessings through community.
Song of Solomon 2:11. "for lo, the winter is past, the rain
is over and gone."
"The winter" -- of
estrangement and sin is "past" to the believer (Isaiah 44:22; Jeremiah 50:20;
2Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:1).
"The rain is over
and gone"
-- (Hebrews 12:18-24; 1John 2:8). The promise of a new season and period of
growth is now beginning for the people of God.
Deuteronomy 28:12 -
"The LORD will
open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its
season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations,
but you shall not borrow."
"The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure" --The seasonable supply of
the early and latter rain was one of the principal means by which their land was
so uncommonly fruitful.
"thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow" --that
is, you shall be in such affluent circumstances, as to be capable, out of thy
superfluous wealth, to give aid to thy poorer neighbors.
Ezekiel 34:26 -
"I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will
cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing."
"I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing;" --Zion, God's hill (Psalm 2:6), and all the places in close proximity to Zion
become a source of blessing, not merely to the nation, but to all the
surrounding nations (Isaiah 56:6, 7; Zechariah 8:13).
"I will cause showers to come down in their season;" - In accord to the ancient
covenant, (Leviticus 26:4; Psalm 68:9; Malachi 3:10), fertilizing showers and
productive trees and lands (Ezekiel 34:27) prosper externally allowing God's
people to be the source of blessings.
New Season Ministry will be a
transforming agent in community because we believe God is calling us to
transform the nations through His Word.
